Free services offered include:

 

Drop-In Tutoring

Tutoring is offered daily. Check the current schedule for availability of our faculty tutors, peer tutors, and volunteer tutors from the Holy Cross Community.

 

Videotapes

Videotapes of the author of your text presenting a lecture on each topic for most classes are available for your use in the LRC or your dorm.  Check them out from the library.  We have videotapes for Basic Algebra (M99), Intermediate Algebra (M101),Discrete Math (111), Finite (M118), Precalculus Algebra (M125), Calculus I (M161) , and Calculus II (M162).

To assist your learning, The Math Center can provide:

*     practice problems for placement testing and for classes, review materials, study cards, lecture notes, and overheads from some math classes. 

*     links to websites with valuable study tips including how to take math tests, how to read a math book, and how to relieve math anxiety. 

*     Our Online Distance Learning Survey can help you decide whether a traditional classroom setting or online learning is the best choice for you.  Not sure if you’re ready for online learning?  Click on the link above for brief questionnaire. It can help you decide.

 

Computer Tutorials

Interactive computer tutorials for many math classes are available.  Some textbooks provide a CD and/or 24/7 web access to text-specific tutorials and live, one-on-one assistance from a qualified instructor during specific hours.  See Mrs. Marquez if you have questions.
