Practice Problems

The Math Center (room V-110b) has many types of materials available to assist your learning.  They include lecture notes, overheads, study cards, and practice problems for placement tests for both algebra and arithmetic skills.

Lecture notes are available in The Math Center for Math 97, 98, and 101 classes.  These notes provide examples and help students absorb the material presented in the textbook.  The notes often are formatted in the following way:

·How does this topic relate to your prior knowledge?

·What is (are) the main concept(s) of this section?

·"How can they make this harder?" ideas are presented.

·Sometimes homework hints are included.

Overheads used by some instructors during lecture are stored in a notebooks for students to use.

Study cards or other review materials are provided to help students review for tests at the end of each chapter in Math 99 and 101.  Some Discrete materials are also available.

Before taking your algebra placement tests, you may wish to review.  You may access review materials using the following link

A Review for the Arithmetic Skills Test is available online here or in The Math Center (V-110b) in case you’d like to review before taking your Arithmetic Skills Placement Test.
