Questions and/or topics for discussion

    1.  What attracts us to someone?
         a.  Make a list of things that attract.
         b.  Then discuss this in the context of your significant relationship.

    2.  Discuss the developmental stages in intimate relationships.
          a.  How did the relationship develop?
          b.  Where does it have to go?
          c.  Is your intimacy intellectual?  Emotional?  Physical?  Shared activities?

    3.  Discuss the characteristics of relational development and maintenance from chapter 8
         in relation to your relationship.  In this paper, discuss those characteristics or lack of in
         relationship to your significant other.

    4.  Discuss the level of self-disclosure that is involved in your relationship.

CULTURE

    1.  How is intimacy in all its forms viewed by the culture you have chosen to analyze?

    2.  How does the culture you have chosen to analyze view honesty and lies?
          a.  How do they view "saving face"?

    3.  Does the culture you are analyzing have a specific cultural behavior including who is
         dominant and who is submissive, or equal?
         a.  Some cultures are male dominant, other are female dominant.  Which is yours?
         b.  What is the culture?  do men walk ahead, open doors, extend courtesies to women
               or how do they interact?
