Handling Questions and Answers

1.  Practice answering tough questions on your topic before an audience of friends.

2.  Repeat or paraphrase the question your are asked.

3.  Maintain eye contact with the audience as you answer.  Don't look at just the person who asks the questions.

4.  Defuse hostile questions by rewording them in unemotional language.

5.  Don't be afraid to say, "I don't know."

6.  Keep answers short and to the point.

7.  Handle nonquestions politely.

8.  Bring the question-and-answer session to a close by reemphasizing your message.
