Dos and Don'ts for Using Presentation Aids
Do
1. Practice your speech using presentation aids.
2. Display PAs only when using them.
3. Stand to side of PA when using it.
4. Point to what is important as you refer to it.
5. Maintain eye contact with your audience.
6. Limit the number of PAs in your speech.
7. Have a backup plan for electronic PAs.
Don'ts
1. Try to "wing it" using PAs.
2. Leave PAs in full view during speech.
3. Stand in front of PA.
4. Deliver your speech to your PA.
5. Distribute handouts during speech.
6. Pass around objects when speaking.
7. Talk over sound from PAs.
