Course: Introduction to Spanish, second semester, a
three credit course covering
basic Spanish grammar and
vocabulary, with emphasis on conversation,
reading and writing skills, and Hispanic culture.
Objectives: to develop a working knowledge of Spanish
and to acquire an
awareness of Hispanic culture.
Transferable skills: The student will be able to:
1.
demonstrate
communication skills in Spanish, including speaking, listening, reading and
writing.
2. develop awareness and respect for cultural diversity.
3. interact and cooperatively work with others in group
situations.
4. recognize and use multiple ways of thinking.
5. access library information resources.
6. use computer programs to enhance coursework.

portfolio---articles on Hispanic events from newspapers or
magazines, scrapbook-style, not from Internet; conjugations; sentences.
Attendance: Class attendance is required as stipulated
in Holy Cross College
policy. NO make-up quizzes will be given. However, two quizzes per semester
may be dropped.
Office hours: 12:30-1:00 MWF and 3:00-4:00 MW
An appointment may be made for times other than scheduled
office hours.
