Holy Cross College,
we are serious about our Catholic mission. We can’t help it.
After all, the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Blessed
Basil Moreau, is famous for his steadfast zeal. So
its not surprising then, that we have a team of individuals whose
entire purpose is to boldly promote this mission. This team
forms a critical mass of faith-filled students who contribute dynamic
leadership and vitality to our school. They act as a catalyst
for stirring up the interest and spiritual yearnings of the rest
of the college. They reach out to others, witnessing to the
joy and fulfillment that comes with a heart and mind educated in
the faith. We currently have about 40 students participating
in the Mission Team.
Members immerse themselves in a challenging program of faith and leadership development grounded in Catholic ideas and practices. They promote the core values of Holy Cross College by growing in holiness and virtue and generously challenging others to do the same. They reach out to serve the needs of the local community and are supported in their work by likeminded peers and mentors. They strive to become solid and dependable pillars of the community.
Because living this way sometimes requires rebelling against prevailing cultural trends, these individuals are rebels of sorts – holy rebels. In all things, they attempt to conform themselves to the Way, the Truth, and the Life despite societal pressures to the contrary. Although their commitment may seem radical, these individuals go about their business humbly and without fanfare. Only in this way do they fully embody the mission.
In an age where the word commitment means little, Mission Team members defy the norm. The Mission Team is not for everyone - it’s a challenge – but for those who choose this path, it is sure to be worthwhile. Come, join the rebellion!
